When you are in this area, a light shines down at you that causes frenzy so you need to use fire to get rid of the two Misshapen Beasts quickly before frenzy builds up.

Go to the lantern and light it, then make sure you have some Sedatives on standby.

Now you can either head through the large door on the first floor to The Nightmare Frontier, or the door on the second floor to the Nightmare of Mensis. If you'd rather get revenge - you can also just kill him to get his Great One's Wisdom if you didn't already get it earlier. If you keep talking to him - using either choice - he will also give you the Anti-Clockwise Metamorphosis Rune, and will henceforth appear in random Chalice Dungeons as a merchant (with crazy prices). He'll be incredibly surprised if you already killed Amygdala in The Nightmare Frontier, and give you the Beg for Life Emote. Now you can choose to head down to the first floor through the trap door if you wish, where you will come face to face with Patches the Spider. Double back and enter the door leading above the opposite Lecture Hall, and exit out behind some barricaded shelves to find a chest with a Communion Rune in it. Now head down the other side of the hall and take out the Potion-throwers guarding a Blood Stone Chunk. He behaves much like the ones you fought in the poison cave in the Forbidden Woods, with the addition of flaming fists that have a surprisingly good reach - so fight carefully. These are key points to remember when you get to the end of the game.īack above the main hall, a Cathedral Giant stands guard above a trapdoor leading down to the first floor. This room contains no enemies - but has two mysterious notes mentioning a Moon Presence and Three Third Cords. As you exit the other side, take out the other ambushing students and enter the last door on the left. Up here it's mostly devoid of enemies - save for a single student guarding a note. If you want to avoid them, you can head through the alcove through a door that leads above the large Lecture Hall. Kill him and grab the Sedatives in the room (they will be very useful coming up).īack in the hall, continue up the path and watch for the potion-throwing students on the far side.

Through the opposite door you can find a circular room with a Mutated Student hiding above waiting to drop down.

On the second floor, there's more creatures to deal with, starting with Mutated Students who roam the halls above the first floor. This place may look familiar if you traveled through the first floor on your way to The Nightmare Frontier. As you enter the building, make sure to light the lantern.
